The Speedworks Charity supports local developing athletes make the transition into elite performance. Speedworks aims is to bridge the gap from junior talent to senior performance by supporting each individual athletes needs by having an all encompassing support team around them. The support team incorporate a dynamic assessment process, using movement screening to make clear decisions in the field. These decisions may include coach intervention, strength and conditioning, performance therapy, supportive equipment or professional referral.

The development of athleticism, technical mastery, strength and conditioning, mental toughness, self efficacy and lifestyle skills are the corner stones of future success in the sport as well as in life. The program aims to develop the person as well as the athlete. When this happens, the lessons can last a lifetime. This is our major goal and to do this we need a multi disciplinary team to do so.

Currently there is a group of 13 athletes who train under Head Coach Marvin Rowe. These athletes are talented sprinters who are aspiring to be like their predecessors and current ambassadors, Daryll Neita and Reece Prescod, who have also come through the Speedworks Training system.

Track and field athletes can join the team based at Lee Valley Athletics Centre and train with some of the fastest athletes in Europe. Athletes will be working with professional coaches, who will provide bespoke training programs and technical instruction.  Track side therapy is available to all our athletes and our resident strength & conditioning coaches are onsite observing each track session and supervising each gym session.

Athletes can enquire and apply to be part of the Speedworks squad for the start of each upcoming winter.

Each year we offer internships in coaching and sports therapy to work with the squad.  We provide trackside experience, education, hands on experience and mentoring in a professional environment. Many of our interns have graduated into full time  roles in professional sport including working for the FA and the RFU in performance roles.

Speedworks Charity also plays host to numerous athletes from all around the globe looking to experience our integrated sport science and sports therapy system. Athletes can visit individually or in groups and can even attend with their coaches. Speedworks also hosts athletes competing in the European and domestic circuit. Being London based with easy transport links to all international  airports, makes staying with us a great option for the travelling athlete.
