How it works

1.  Programming

Programming via TrueCoach example

We write the program for every athlete individually. This is critical that the program make sense for the sport, the level, the age and the goals of the athlete. Once registered, all members will undergo a consultation with one of our team, alongside a movement assessment which guides the prescription of our training system. Each program consists of a technical, specific strength, general strength and running conditioning component. Using your assessment, we can devise a program that is compatible and complimentary, each detail tailored to maximise your development in a synchronised approach. The program encompasses the four components of training:

  1. Technical
  2. Specific Strength
  3. General Strength
  4. Running Conditioning

Each athlete will receive a copy of the program via the TrueCoach app once it has been written.

2.  Video Analysis Reports

During a training session, each athlete films their runs or prescribed exercises and sends them to us.
The feedback mechanism will consist of two elements:

  1. A formal, quantitative, data-driven analysis of the runs
  2. An informal, qualitative report with explanations by the coach, who will translate what the data means into actionable steps for the athlete to take.

The feedback mechanism we have developed is unique. Our coaches, having worked with top athletes and players can provide great feedback but we can now additionally provide visual video analysis showing the movement patterns of the athlete in the form of a speed profile. Not only will they be able to see what they are doing, but there will be quantifiable data to back it up. Now, feedback can match reality.
Our custom developed system performs a step analysis (quantifying the position of joints over time, the time spent on the ground and in the air) meaning we can truly assess, and not guess what is happening.
Coaching cues and feedback can be more specific, training interventions can be more complimentary to your needs, and small to large improvements can be identified clearly. Through this analysis you can begin to remove large amounts of error from your training and speed up the development process.

3.  Real Time Virtual Coaching

In order for the athlete to iterate quickly and experiment with their mechanics, we will additionally provide a Real Time Virtual Coaching service. This can be used in three ways: before a session, during a session or after a session, depending on the athlete's preference and internet access. The athlete can connect with the coach or record their session and receive guidance on their prescribed . This can be done during upright running sessions, blocks, acceleration, S&C etc. For example, during an acceleration session, the athlete connects with the coach, sets up the phone and after each rep, feedback is given to the athlete.

* Requirements

Some requirements on the part of the athlete to facilitate the process:

  • Phone for video and live feedback
  • Headphones or speakers to facilitate communication during live coaching
  • Tripod or a way of setting up phone for filming
  • Optional:
    • Sled, Exergenie, bands or any other resistance device. This equipment is foundational for learning good acceleration mechanics, and therefore recommended.
