Our Coach Development Days are back with a sport specific focus and we are pleased to welcome Alan Murdoch (Speedworks Bath) and Hailu Theodros (Speedworks London) to deliver on their relevant sports.

Coach development day focuses on combining the art and science of coaching explosive movements, with cues and teaching as being the focus. While the modern coach must of course be able to understand coaching and physical development, there is an huge need to be able to communicate and get your message across clearly.

The workshop is a fully inclusive experience in which the deliver will take coaches through the fundamentals of coaching acceleration, COD and max v in a gamespeed environment. In addition, they will cover how exactly to use gym/field-based drills to develop coordination and conditioning for speed, to really maximise transfer of training.

The 4 hours will consist of the following:

  • Theory and background.

  • Get coached by Alan or Hailu and understand the principles and coaching cues.

  • Apply what you’ve learnt by coaching each other with input from Alan or Hailu.

  • Summary of session

This is mainly a practical event but those unable to take part are welcome to get involved observing, and will have increased opportunities in the coaching breakouts.
