Sprint Profiling And Coaching – Theory And Practical (AC Milan)
This workshop will provide you with the ability to apply up to date methods of measuring and assessing speed power metrics. We have chosen world leading brands to help you create pragmatic solutions for your environment.
During the morning we will hear from Jonas Dodoo, JB Morin, Martin O’Reilly (CEO of Output Sports) and Kalle Granath (1080 Motion). This will be mostly in lecture style, focusing on sprint science and the assessment of jumping and running gait. We will take you through the fundamentals of biomechanics and how they apply to jumping and sprinting.
The morning sessions will be mostly theory but will also include a practical session form Kalle Grannath supported by Italian professional track and field coach Marco Airale. They will show you how to use the 1080 Sprint for assessing and training resisted and assisted sprinting and Change of Direction. This practical session will focus on the innovative way practitioners are preparing players for improving speed, based on actionable data.
After lunch we will focus on combining the Art and Science of coaching explosive movements, with communication being the centrepiece. While the modern coach must of course be able to understand and interpret the evidence that underpins physical development, there is an additional need to be able to summarise it simply and communicate “what matters” clearly to your athletes.
The workshop will be a fully inclusive experience, where we will take coaches through the fundamentals of coaching acceleration and max velocity. In addition, we will cover how exactly to use gym/field-based drills to develop coordination and maximise transfer of training.
Within these session’, we will share our framework for exercise selection and cueing, describing in depth, when and what to use to encourage technical change; but most importantly the “why”.
Coaches will be encouraged to take part in the practical sessions, with plenty of opportunities to get feedback and guidance. Those unable to take part are welcome to just observe.
